Stainless Steel Sheet Supplier

Nandini Steel supplies stainless steel sheet, commonly specified as SS sheet, across the grades buyers ask for most, 304 (SS 304), 304L, 316 (SS 316), 316L and super-austenitic 904L, ex-stock with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 mill test certificates.

Stainless steel sheet grades: SS 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 904L

Stainless steel sheet is the highest-volume product we move out of Mumbai, and we hold all five core grades ex-stock for same-day dispatch. SS 304 sheet and 304L sheet cover general fabrication, kitchen equipment and architectural work. SS 316 sheet and 316L sheet carry the added molybdenum that pharma, food processing and coastal projects need for real chloride resistance. 904L sheet is our super-austenitic grade for sulfuric-acid and aggressive chemical duty, and it sits inside our ISO 9001:2015 certified specialty scope (Cert No. 1283438). Every sheet dispatch carries an EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 mill test certificate traceable to heat number.

304 stainless steel sheet is the default choice for dry, indoor, non-chloride duty, while 304L keeps carbon below 0.03 percent for welded assemblies that would otherwise sensitize. 316 and 316L sheet add 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, the single factor that decides whether a sheet pits in a kitchen wash-down bay or a coastal facade. 904L sheet goes further still, with roughly 4.5 percent molybdenum and copper, for the rare job where even 316L is not enough.

SS sheet sizes, thickness and gauge

Stainless steel sheet is stocked from 0.3 mm up to 3 mm thickness and supplied in standard sheet sizes including 1250 x 2500 mm and 1500 x 3000 mm, with 1000 x 2000 mm also common for smaller fabrication runs.

Custom slit widths and cut lengths are available on request, and our weight calculator helps convert any sheet size and thickness into shipping weight before you place an RFQ.

Finishes: 2B, BA, No.4, which to specify

Stainless steel sheet finish changes both the look and the cleanability of the surface, so specifying the right one matters as much as the grade. 2B is the standard cold-rolled, dull-bright finish used for general fabrication and most pharma and food contact surfaces. BA, or bright annealed, gives a mirror-like reflective surface favored for architectural panels and visible equipment. No.4 is a directional, brushed satin finish, common on kitchen counters, elevator panels and hygienic equipment where fingerprints and scratches need to be less visible. Our finishes guide walks through which finish suits which application in more depth.

ASTM A240 sheet standards

Stainless steel sheet from Nandini Steel conforms to ASTM A240 and its equivalent ASME SA-240, which set the chemical composition, tensile and yield strength and bend requirements for chromium and chromium-nickel sheet. ASTM A480 governs the general requirements, dimensional tolerances and surface finish definitions that apply across sheet, plate and strip. We supply every sheet order with full mill traceability so the EN 10204 3.1/3.2 certificate matches the A240 chemistry and mechanical data your QA team needs to close out receiving inspection.

Applications: kitchen and hygiene, pharma, architecture, fabrication

Stainless steel sheet fabricates kitchen equipment, hygienic processing lines and food and dairy and food and beverage tanks, where the 2B or No.4 finish on 304 or 316L sheet resists staining and washes down easily. Pharmaceutical cleanrooms and process skids lean on 316L sheet for its corrosion resistance under repeated cleaning cycles. Architectural cladding, lift interiors and signage use BA or No.4 finish sheet for appearance, while general fabrication shops consume 304 sheet in volume for ducting, enclosures and brackets.

SS sheet price and RFQ

We quote stainless steel sheet price only against a specific RFQ, never off a published list, because the real number moves with the nickel and molybdenum alloy surcharge on top of a base grade price. Thickness, sheet size, finish and order quantity each add or remove cost, and the alloy surcharge alone can shift week to week with the metals market. Send us your grade, thickness, size, finish and quantity and we will return a firm, delivered quote the same day.

Questions

Frequently asked

2B vs BA vs No.4, which finish for my application?
2B suits general fabrication and most pharma or food contact surfaces where function matters more than appearance. BA gives a mirror-bright look for architectural and display applications. No.4 is the brushed satin finish preferred for kitchen counters and hygienic equipment where visible scratches and fingerprints need to be minimized.
What gauges of stainless sheet do you hold?
We stock stainless steel sheet from 0.3 mm (around 28 gauge) up to 3 mm (around 11 gauge) across 304, 304L, 316, 316L and 904L. Standard sizes include 1250 x 2500 mm and 1500 x 3000 mm, with other sizes available on request.
Which grade of sheet is food-grade?
304 and 316L sheet are the standard choices for food, dairy and beverage equipment. 316L is preferred where the surface sees frequent washdown, acidic ingredients or coastal humidity, since its molybdenum content resists pitting that plain 304 cannot.
What are standard SS sheet sizes?
Our standard stainless steel sheet sizes are 1250 x 2500 mm and 1500 x 3000 mm, with 1000 x 2000 mm also held for smaller runs. Custom cut sizes and slit widths are available on request against a confirmed order.
Do you supply laser-quality or PVC-film sheet?
Yes, laser-cutting-grade sheet with tighter flatness tolerance and PVC-film protected sheet for architectural and visible finishes are both available on request. Specify the requirement on your RFQ along with grade, thickness and finish and we will confirm ex-stock availability or lead time.
Which grades are ex-stock?
304, 304L, 316, 316L and 904L sheet are all held ex-stock in Mumbai for immediate dispatch. Every dispatch includes an EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 mill test certificate traceable to heat number.
