Who we are: Nandini Steel at a glance

Nandini Steel is a stockist and supplier of corrosion-resistant alloys (CRA) and pressure-vessel-quality (PVQ) steel. We don't re-label material and sell it on. Our credibility rests on the paperwork: every heat traces back to a named mill and comes documented against a mill test certificate. Here's the entity in one block.

Our story & track record

Nandini Steel has traded corrosion-resistant and pressure-vessel steel since 2003. That's more than two decades spent sourcing, stocking and exporting the grades that ordinary stockists avoid. Over that time we've delivered 307+ projects for 260+ clients across 36+ export countries. These counts come straight from our order record, not from any aspirational rounding. Pricing gets quoted per inquiry against live stock, so we don't publish indicative price tables.

Where we operate

Our head office and stockyard sit in Girgaon, Mumbai 400004, and from there we supply customers across India and export to more than 36 countries. Material ships ex-stock for immediate dispatch, and we prepare the export documentation for the destination country. Before you buy, a procurement auditor will want to check our registration, certification and traceability. You'll find all of that laid out on this page and in our certifications.

Why buyers trust us: traceability is the product

Before anyone signs off on a quote for a corrosion-critical or pressure-vessel grade, the real question comes down to this: can the supplier prove the metal is what the order claims? Our answer is documentary. Mill-linked provenance comes first, and every heat gets an EN 10204 certificate behind it. We'd rather hand you a certificate than an adjective.

Mill-linked sourcing & authorized provenance

We supply genuine mill plate from named producers, Aperam, Outokumpu, Jindal, POSCO, Nippon Steel and JFE, so the material on your order traces back to an identifiable rolling mill, not some anonymous re-roller. Take a grade like 904L: you get an Aperam or Outokumpu heat you can actually verify, and it comes in the solution-annealed condition the standard calls for.

EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 mill test certificates & heat traceability

Every order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate (or 3.2, when third-party endorsement is called for), and the heat or cast number stamped on the material matches that certificate. Mill, heat number, MTC, your receiving inspection: that chain is the whole point of the operation. You can see how we document it on our EN 10204 mill test certificate page, along with the broader approach to material traceability.

Quality system & certifications

Nandini Steel runs a certified ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, Certificate No. 1283438, issued by Unitas Certification Services (UCS-UK). Surveillance is complete, and the certificate holds validity through 11 January 2028. The certified scope covers manufacture, import and export of stainless, carbon and alloy steel pipes, fittings and flanges, plus stocking of rods, sheets and plates. One specialty gets called out by name on the certificate: 904L, Alloy 28 / Sanicro 28, Incoloy 800 and Hastelloy plates. Third-party inspection bodies also review the material, among them TÜV SÜD, Bureau Veritas, DNV, SGS and ABS. Full documentation sits on our ISO 9001:2015 certificate page.

Standards we supply to

We supply material standards to the public, in the grade and form the job requires. We state them by number because that's part of how we prove competence. Each one links to the standard's reference node.

Testing & inspection capability

We furnish and arrange the tests a corrosion-critical or pressure-vessel order needs, beyond the mill certificate itself:

  • Mill test certificate (EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2), chemistry and mechanicals tied to the heat, with every order.
  • Positive material identification (PMI), grade confirmation on the stocked item before dispatch.
  • Ultrasonic (UT) and radiographic (RT) examination, for plate soundness and welded items.
  • Hydrostatic testing, for pipe and pressure-containing items where specified.
  • Intergranular corrosion testing (IGC per ASTM A262), to confirm resistance to sensitization on austenitic grades.
  • Charpy impact testing, at the design temperature for normalized PVQ plate in low-temperature service.

The method-by-method detail lives on our quality assurance process page and in MTC, NDT & PMI testing.

What our engineers watch for

Order review is where grade competence actually gets tested. In sulfuric-acid and high-chloride service, buyers often specify Alloy 20, 625 or titanium, even when 904L's copper-bearing chemistry, roughly 4.5% Mo with a PREN near 34, already handles the job for less money. The number that matters for ordering is the PREN pitting resistance ladder: 304 (~18), then 316 (~24), then 904L (~34), then Incoloy 825 (~31–40). We also fix a mislabel we see constantly: "Inconel 825" isn't correct. The right name is Incoloy 825, also called Alloy 825 (UNS N08825). For sour-service corrosion, we require that NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 be cited on the order, so the heat ships in the qualified condition.

Our team & technical review

The grade guidance, specifications and selection notes across this site come from the Nandini Steel Engineering Team. They're the metallurgical and QA staff who process orders, read mill certificates and run receiving inspections every day. Technical pages carry a review byline, so you know a competent human stands behind the numbers.

Industries we serve

Our grades get specified wherever corrosion or pressure would rule out ordinary steel:

  • Oil & gas, sour-service alloys (Incoloy 825, A516 NACE-HIC) for wellhead and process duty.
  • Petrochemical, stainless and nickel alloys for acid and high-temperature streams.
  • Pressure vessels, A516 and SA-240 flat product for vessels, boilers and separators.
  • Chemical processing, 904L and Incoloy 825 handle sulfuric and mixed-acid service.
  • Marine, 316 / 316L and higher alloys for chloride-rich environments.

Frequently asked questions

Is Nandini Steel a manufacturer or a stockist?
Nandini Steel works mainly as a stockist and supplier, though our certified scope extends to manufacturing pipes, fittings and flanges too.
