The grade contains 16.0 to 18.0% chromium, 10.0 to 14.0% nickel, and 2.00 to 3.00% molybdenum. These elements resist pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride-containing and acidic conditions. ASTM A240 316Ti sheet delivers a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa (75 ksi) and a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), with elongation at 35% minimum in 50 mm.
