- Stabilization of Titanium: 316ti has the advantage over 316L because the latter contains a reduced amount of carbon, and this reduces carbide precipitation. Intergranular corrosion is well protected in 316ti, especially where welding has been done.
- Higher Temperature Performance: 316ti retains its mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion at elevated temperatures (up to 870°C) compared to 316L, which is suitable only below 800°C.
- Improved Creep and Stress Rupture Resistance: The presence of titanium enhances the resistance to creep, making 316Ti a more suitable material for applications involving prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.
- Better Suitability for Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers: 316ti is more suitable for applications in pressure vessels and heat exchangers than 316L stainless steel sheet because it offers better performance under prolonged thermal cycling.

The 316ti Stainless Steel Sheet contains the following elements: Chromium (16-18%), Nickel (10-14%), Molybdenum (2-3%), Titanium (0.5-0.7%), Carbon (max 0.08%), and trace amounts of Manganese, Silicon, Phosphorus, and Sulfur. The titanium content stabilizes the alloy, preventing carbide precipitation during heat exposure. As a result, the sheet offers excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and pitting, along with superior mechanical strength and formability, making it a reliable choice for demanding applications.
