- Lower Weld Carbon Interstitials than 304: The carbon content in a 304L stainless steel sheet is ≤0.03% and thus considerably lowers the possibility of intergranular corrosion following welding. This makes the material suitable for those applications where extensive welding is required and no annealing after welding is performed.
- Superior Resistance to Corrosion: Although both stainless steel sheet 304 and 304L exhibit remarkable resistance to corrosion the 304L is particularly more resistant in corrosive environments, especially in atmospheres rich in chlorides and marine conditions.
