Nandini Steel is an ISO 9001-certified supplier of 304 stainless steel sheets based in Mumbai, India. We supply ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 SS 304 sheet, also known as UNS S30400 and 18/8 stainless steel. We provide SS 304 sheets in thicknesses ranging from 0.4 mm to 6 mm with 2B, BA, #4 brushed, and #8 mirror finishes.
304 stainless steel sheet is one of the most widely used forms of stainless steel in general fabrication and industrial work. It falls under the austenitic family. It has good corrosion resistance, decent strength, and stays non-magnetic in its annealed state. The 304 grade contains 18.0-20.0% chromium and 8.0-11.0% nickel with carbon limited to 0.08% max. TP 304 stainless steel sheet has a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa (75 ksi), yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), and at least 40% elongation, giving it good formability. Its sheet form works well for many jobs, from light fabrication to heavier structural uses, depending on thickness.
Custom sizes are available on request. Every sheet conforms to ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 and comes with mill test certificates.

304 Stainless Steel Sheet Industrial Applications
304 stainless steel sheet is used in many industries. Its 18/8 chromium-nickel makeup works well in mildly acidic to mildly alkaline environments.
Food Processing & Commercial Kitchen Equipment
304 stainless steel sheet is the standard for food-contact surfaces. 16 or 18-gauge sheets are used for worktables, sinks, and splashbacks, resisting dairy acids and chlorine cleaners.
Architectural & Decorative Applications
304 stainless steel sheets in #4 or #8 finish are used for lift panels, facades, and interiors. Perforated sheets suit screens and ventilation panels.
Chemical & Pharmaceutical Processing
This grade resists many common chemicals at normal and slightly higher temperatures. 2B finish. 304 SS sheets are used in pharmaceutical tanks and clean-room panels to meet GMP standards.
Marine & Outdoor Environments
304 stainless steel sheet performs well in freshwater, marine hardware and outdoor installations. Boat trim and dock fittings resist atmospheric corrosion effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price of 304 Stainless Steel Sheet per kg?
The price is about ₹200-₹350 per kg in India. Internationally, prices range from USD $2.50 to $5.00 per kg for mill quantities. Prices depend mainly on thickness, finish, order size and raw material rates. Contact us for today’s exact price.
What sizes are available for 304 Stainless Steel Sheet?
Our sheets are available in dimensions of 4×8 ft, 4×10 ft, and 5×10 ft, with thicknesses ranging from 0.4 mm to 6 mm. We can also accommodate custom sizes.
What finishes are available for 304 SS Sheet?
You can choose 2B mill, #4 brushed (satin), #8 mirror, or BA (bright annealed). 2B is common for fabrication, #4 and #8 are preferred for decorative and architectural use.
What is the weight of 304 Stainless Steel Sheet?
Weight changes with thickness. For example, 20 GA is 7.30 kg/m², 16 GA is 12.16 kg/m², and 11 GA is 24.32 kg/m². The alloy density is 8.0 g/cm³.
Can 304 Stainless Steel Sheet be bent or formed?
Yes. With 40% minimum elongation, 304 can be bent, stamped, roll-formed, and deep drawn using normal fabrication equipment without special procedures in most cases.
What is the difference between 304 and 316 Stainless Steel Sheet?
316 has 2-3% molybdenum, which improves resistance to chlorides and many acids. 304 is cheaper for general use; 316 is better for marine and harsh corrosive environments.
What is the ASTM Specification for 304 Stainless Steel Sheet?
304 stainless steel sheet is made according to the ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 standard. This standard covers chromium-nickel stainless steel plate, sheet, and strip used in many different industries.
What is the difference between 304 and 304L Stainless Steel Sheet?
304L has lower carbon (max 0.03%) than 304 (max 0.08%), reducing weld-related corrosion. Many suppliers now provide dual-certified 304/304L sheets.
