SS 304 plate is an austenitic stainless steel flat product containing chromium and nickel. This composition provides dependable corrosion resistance. It’s effective in atmospheric settings, as well as in the presence of organic acids and mildly aggressive chemicals, which makes it suitable for many general-purpose applications. It is commonly referred to as 18/8 stainless steel because it typically contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel. The carbon content is restricted to a maximum of 0.08%, contributing to good weldability and ease of forming.
This grade delivers a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa (75 ksi), a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa (30 ksi), and 35% elongation, striking a good balance between strength and ductility. We supply SS 304 plates in thicknesses ranging from 3 mm to 150 mm, widths reaching 2,500 mm, and standard lengths of up to 6,000 mm; custom dimensions are also offered.
