Nandini Steel is a trusted stainless steel plate manufacturer and supplier in Mumbai, India. We manufacture and export ASTM A240 / ASME SA-240 stainless steel plates across a full range of austenitic, ferritic, duplex, and super duplex grades. Our product range includes grades 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 310, 321, 347, and 904L. These chromium-nickel (Cr-Ni) steel plates contain at least 10.5% chromium for corrosion resistance, with nickel and molybdenum levels adjusted by grade to match different service conditions.
Tensile strength across our stainless plate range spans from 450 MPa (for ferritic 430). Yield strength values vary accordingly, starting at 205 MPa for austenitic 304. SS plates come in thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 200 mm, widths up to 2,500 mm, and lengths up to 12,000 mm. Surface finish options include No. 1, 2B, BA, No. 4, and mirror finish. Custom cut-to-size plates are available on request.
All our stainless steel plates meet ASTM A240, ASME SA-240, ASTM A480, and IS 6911 standards. They are used in oil and gas, petrochemical, food processing, pharmaceutical, marine, power generation, and construction industries. Nandini Steel is ISO 9001 certified and exports to over 50 countries, supplying plates with full mill test certificates.

Stainless Steel Plates Available Grades
Austenitic Stainless Steel Plate Grades (300 Series)
Austenitic stainless steel plates account for the largest share of global SS plate consumption. These grades contain 16 to 26% chromium and 6 to 22% nickel, giving them strong corrosion resistance and good formability.
304 / 304L Stainless Steel Plate
SS 304 plates (UNS S30400) contain 18% chromium and 8% nickel, which is why this grade is also referred to as 18/8 steel plates. Grade 304L is the low-carbon variant with carbon restricted to 0.030% maximum, reducing sensitisation risk during welding. Both grades are used in food processing, dairy equipment, and general fabrication.
316 / 316L/ 316Ti Stainless Steel Plate
SS 316 plates (UNS S31600) add 2 to 3% molybdenum to the 304 base composition. Molybdenum improves resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion. 316L stainless plates are commonly used for marine-grade plates, chemical tanks, and pharmaceutical vessels. 316Ti stainless plates are stabilised with titanium for improved resistance to intergranular corrosion in high‑temperature or welded service.
310 Stainless Steel Plate
321 Stainless Steel Plate
347 Stainless Steel Plate
Speciality Alloy Stainless Steel Plate Grades
Speciality grades are used in very corrosive conditions where standard austenitic and duplex plates are not resistant enough.
904L Stainless Steel Plate
Industrial Applications of ASME SA516 Grade 60/70 HIC Tested Plate
Stainless steel plates find applications across 7 major industries. The right grade for each use depends on the type of corrosion, the operating temperature, and the required strength.
Oil & Gas Industry
Pressure vessels, separators, and storage tanks in upstream and downstream oil and gas operations use stainless plates. NACE-compliant grades are specified for sour service conditions.
Chemical & Petrochemical Processing
Reactor vessels, distillation columns, and pipe racks in chemical plants need plates that can resist mixed acid environments.
Food & Beverage Processing
304 and 316L stainless steel plates are common in dairy, brewing, and storage because they keep food clean and don’t change its taste.
Pharmaceutical Industry
Pharmaceutical equipment and clean-room walls often use 316L stainless plates because they are chemically stable, easy to clean, and can have very smooth finishes like electropolished or BA.
Marine & Offshore
Marine-grade stainless steel plates can withstand seawater for long periods. Corrosion-resistant steel (CRES) plates are often used in offshore structures and ship equipment.
Power Generation
Boiler drums, superheater tubes, and flue gas systems in power plants use 321 plates for high-temperature resistance. Nuclear power plants specify low-carbon grades with controlled cobalt content.
Construction & Architecture
In modern buildings, stainless plates act as facades, roofs, and connectors; 304 grade with No.4 or mirror finish combines strength and aesthetics.
