Compositions and Properties of Hastelloy C276 Sheet

Hastelloy C276 contains 57% Nickel, 16% Molybdenum, 15% Chromium, and 5% Iron, along with other elements. The high Nickel content improves its resistance to stress corrosion cracking due to chloride, and Molybdenum and Chromium ensure very good protection against oxidation and corrosion. The tensile strength of about 790 MPa, with great load-carrying capacity. The yield point of about 355 MPa offers high resistance to deformation under load. With an elongation of 45%, it provides very good flexibility, hence capable of withstanding high-pressure conditions without getting cracked. Further, its hardness value (Brinell 220 HB) guarantees high wear resistance, and therefore it is a suitable choice for severe industrial environments.
