Key Features of Hastelloy X Coils
- Exceptional High-Temperature Strength: Hastelloy X coil excels in extreme heat conditions, maintaining superior mechanical strength even at 1200°C (2200°F).
- Outstanding Oxidation and Creep Resistance: With superior oxidation and creep resistance, Hastelloy X performs exceptionally well in prolonged high-temperature exposure. Hastelloy C22, while excellent in corrosion resistance, does not offer the same level of stability under extreme heat.
- Superior Thermal Stability: Hastelloy X retains its microstructural stability, avoiding grain boundary carbide precipitation even upon repeated thermal cycling. Hastelloy C22 is more susceptible to phase instability at elevated temperatures.
- Higher Mechanical Strength: In comparison to Hastelloy C22, Hastelloy X coil has higher yield strength and tensile strength, which makes it stronger and more reliable in high-stress applications like gas turbines and combustion chambers.
- Similar Corrosion Resistance with Increased Durability: Though Hastelloy C22 is very resistant to corrosion, Hastelloy X offers similar oxidation and sulfidation resistance coupled with strengthened mechanical properties, making it the preferred material for high performance applications.
Composition and Properties of Hastelloy X Coil
Our hastelloy X Coil is composed of approximately 47% nickel, 22% chromium, 17% iron and smaller amounts of molybdenum, cobalt, and other elements. This combination of elements gives the alloy its unique combination of strength and resistance to both oxidation and high-temperature corrosion. The high percentage of nickel contributes to its outstanding resistance to heat and chemical environments, while the chromium and molybdenum provide exceptional resistance to oxidation and pitting. These elements make Hastelloy X Coil extremely efficient to be used in harsh environments, durable and dependable for aerospace, chemical processing and power generation industries.
Uses of Hastelloy X Coil
Hastelloy X Coil has extensive applications in industries requiring high-performance and longevity in harsh environments. Its exceptional resistance to heat and corrosion makes it ideal for use in jet engines, gas turbines, and other high-temperature applications. The alloy’s ability to withstand thermal stresses and oxidation makes it perfect for use in chemical processing, heat exchangers, and pollution control equipment. The Hastelloy X Coil is also applied in the aerospace industry for parts such as combustion chambers and flame holders, where strength and corrosion resistance are critical. Its versatility and reliability make it a first choice for industries seeking durable, long-lasting material in harsh environments.
